Our superior surgical technique comes from many years of experience and thousands of gastric band procedures. For example, most surgical practices ignore hiatal hernias unless they are large. We fix all hiatal hernias because we know from experience how important this is for maintaining proper band placement long-term and reducing future problems. Many surgical practices want to do surgery. We want you to lose weight. That's the difference. Without the type of care we provide after surgery it will be very difficult and frustrating for you to lose weight with the band. We have many patients who were banded by other surgeons and transferred their care to our practice after not losing weight. Under our care they reach their goal weight. Dr. John Mobley

Dr. John Mobley is one of the few banded band surgeons in the United States. Many frustrated patients from other practices transfer their care to Dr. Mobley and begin losing weight successfully. You cannot compare the superior care he provides.

Dr. Brad Watkins is one of the most experienced band surgeons in the United States, has published five academic articles in the surgery journals and travels around the country teaching laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding to other surgeons. Dr. Mobley was Dr. Watkins' Chief Resident during surgical residency and they enjoy working together. Dr. Watkins is proud to be known as "the guy who did Dr. Mobley's band surgery".

New Technology

Cincinnati Weight Loss Center offers several new technologies for weight regain after gastric bypass. In addition to placing a gastric band around the failed bypass pouch ("band over bypass") we offer endoscopic suturing (ROSE), an incisionless procedure whereby the dilated bypass pouch is repaired by stitching from within a specialized stomach scope requiring no incisions. Cincinnati Weight Loss Center is one of 8 centers in the United States offering this new technology. Dr. Mobley and Dr. Watkins serve as consultants for several new companies with exciting new treatments for obesity. Most of them are currently in non-disclosure status but just know that Cincinnati Weight Loss Center will always be at the forefront of new technology.
